The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) represents one of the world’s most ancient and comprehensive traditions of intellectual inquiry, deeply rooted in the cultural, spiritual, and philosophical heritage of India. As a systematic transmission of knowledge across generations, IKS spans diverse fields—from the principles of governance found in the Arthashastra to the holistic wellness of Ayurveda and the systematic logic of Nyaya.
Central to IKS is a holistic worldview that emphasizes the interconnectedness of all life forms, harmony with nature, and a value-based approach to life.
In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which has made IKS a mandatory component in higher education curricula, JAGSoM has embraced IKS not merely as a subject, but as the philosophical core for creating ethical leaders.
Recently JAGSoM hosted by in association with NHRD on November 28, 2025, AI and HR Confluence, which served as a potent example of how our institution operationalizes IKS principles in a real-world business context.
The readiness of our students to engage with this ethical-analytical complexity is validated by our incoming cohort profile:72%, with a strong 78% in Behavioural Readiness 9and 70% in Analytical Ability. They are “already primed for corporate expectations—both behaviourally and analytically”, are capable of implementing the “responsible AI frameworks” discussed at the conference. They are equipped not just with the technical skills to build AI (Analytical Ability), but with the character (Behavioural Readiness) to build it ethically (IKS-Dharma).
