Course Catalogue

The program is designed to provide a structured pathway for students to work on their startup ideas and has the following components:
1) Design Thinking led Innovation
Design Thinking led Innovation serves as the input to the Innovation Incubation program:
The course is designed to impart problem-solving skills to students. Students choose a particular company to analyse, identify problems and suggest solutions using the tools of Design Thinking.

    i) Exhibition on Design Thinking:

       The course culminates with an exhibition where students present their solutions to a jury consisting of experts from industry and academia.

2) Innovation Incubation- (II)
    i) Application & Screening:
        a) The first step involves inviting applications from the MBA cohort for the Innovation Incubation program.
        b) Post the receipt of applications, a screening process is conducted which involves two steps.
  Administering the Thomas International PPA test for the participants to identify entrepreneurial orientation.
 Presentation of business ideas to a jury. The key parameters used for evaluation are identification of pain points and the feasibility of the       proposed idea for solving the problem.

   ii) During the Intervention:
      a) The selected students post the screening round work towards completing various milestones as part of the II program which are mentioned below.

Identification of pain points of the target customers and understanding the competition.

    b) Students receive guidance and mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs through the “Startup Tuitions” sessions while working on the above milestones during the II program.

    c) Pitch in front of investors, and start-up mentors and entrepreneurs for short-listing potential feasible ventures for further funding and mentoring purposes.

3) Entrepreneurship Specialization-

Five courses are offered in parallel to facilitate the students in the Innovation Incubation (II) program.

  i) Creativity & Innovation: To appreciate the importance and impact of innovation in business and how to apply creative thinking to develop innovative ideas to address business problems.

 ii) Entrepreneurial Marketing: to equip students with relevant tools to help them develop a marketing plan to support the idea. (Go to Market)

 iii) Entrepreneurial Finance: To understand aspects of the valuation of startups, evaluate various funding options available, and learn the process of raising funds for a startup.

 iv) Experiential Entrepreneurship: Face-to-face interaction from the experiences of invited startup founders where students build valuable connections.

 v) Business Model Innovation: To provide a framework that helps in inventing or reinventing business models.

4) Incubation as Entrepreneur in Residence:

Post the shortlisting of feasible ventures in the pitch round, shortlisted students start the next phase as “Entrepreneurs in Residence supported by
 i) Access to one-on-one mentoring.
 ii) Financial Support- stipend fee of around 600 US dollars per month for a period of 6 months.
 iii) Access to the ecosystem for building a network including the alumni network
 iv) Deferred Placements for upto 2 years.
