She has worked as a technical professional engineer before joining academics. She worked with companies like Convergys India services Ltd in corporation with Microsoft, USA ,Mainstay Tele Services, Tilda services UK & Sterling InfoTech Limited associated with Carnegie University of USA .In the field of academics she has taught in Institutes like Alliance, Dayandsagar.
Prof Srilatha believes not just in delivering and engaging courses, but also advising and guiding students, and contributing to departmental and institutional initiatives at all levels.
