Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay: An entrepreneur and an educator, Dr. Atish is a keen proponent of globalization of Indian Higher Education Institutions. He is the Director JAGSoM and Vice Chancellor of Vijaybhoomi University, where, he is pioneering the ‘Liberal Professional’ framework of education, which facilitates the process of ‘discovery’ to groom holistic, socially responsible professionals. As Director of JAGSoM, he pioneered a study in association with the industry to curate a graduate management curriculum that caters to the needs of Industry 4.0.
He led JAGSoM to emerge as one of the top B-Schools from India with an international profile – Being reaccredited by AACSB and ranked in the QS World University Rankings. JAGSoM made its debut in Indian rankings being ranked amongst the top 30 B-Schools in India (Business Today-MDRA 2021).
As a professor of Marketing, Dr. Atish has studied shopper marketing in the general trade retail covering Southeast Asia and Latin America. Companies supporting such work have include leading MNCs like J&J (Asia Pacific). He has published in leading journals like Journal of Macromarketing, Journal of Business Research, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing & Logistics etc.
He believes in Internationalization of Indian institutions and has presented across various international forums of AACSB and GMAC.
He had held leadership positions in leading institutions of India as Director IMT Ghaziabad, Dean MICA, Ahmedabad and as Deputy Director at SPJIMR, Mumbai. Under his leadership, these schools-initiated path breaking pedagogical innovations, winning global accolades, including finding a place on AACSB’s ‘Innovations that Inspire’ list – JAGSoM’s experiential interventions ‘Kanyathon’ featured in the list in 2021.
He is the recipient of the first Y K Bhushan Memorial Award for his ‘outstanding contribution to management education’ instituted by Higher Education Foundation of India.
